Tirupur: At a recent media briefing, Vanathi Srinivasan, the BJP State General Secretary stated that the BJP Tamil Nadu unit would urge the Centre to conduct the Postal Department's clerical cadre competitive examinations in Tamil too since there is an announcement to this effect to conduct the exams in regional languages, in the North Eastern states.

After taking part in the Executive Council Meet of the district unit, Vanathi Srinivasan spoke to the media saying that the enrollment campaign for new membership into the BJP party has gained momentum, even though the party had fared poorly in the recent polls. A target enrollment of 2 lakh members had been set for Tirupur district with the enrollment exercise to be carried on for another month.
While urging the State Government to expedite strengthening of laws for the protection of water bodies from being encroached, Vanitha Srinivasan opined that those who are living in encroached lands should be given alternate sites. "The water bodies should be renovated to enable good storage and water conservation measures should be implemented with a lot of foresight to avoid drought conditions in the future," she reiterated.
